Garage48 Ventspils winner is ClassNote May 12, 2013
For the first time Garage48 took place in Ventspils, Latvia on May 10-12. 90 visionaries, developers, designers and marketers came together this weekend to make amazing ideas come true. Altogether 30 ideas were pitched, the best 14 were transformed into working prototypes by Sunday afternoon. After a tough decision process tonight, the jury chose ClassnoteApp as the winner and PictoneApp, ShuffleMyFridge and Visand as the runners-up. Additionally, ShuffleMyFridge became the Favourite of the Audience and Visand received Microsoft Special Prize. Award for the Most Fun Demo went to BLSH.IT. Selleza received the title of 'Innovative' while NapkinDigital and ClassnoteApp were awarded A Special 'Innovation Award' from Credit24.

Garage48 took place for the second time in Kiev, Ukraine 26-28th April. 81 visionaries, developers, designers and marketers gathered this weekend to make awesome things happen. Alltogether 31 ideas were pitched, the best 14 were turned into working prototypes during the weekend. After careful consideration on Sunday, the jury picked Tootorial.co as the winner and PlanTo.co as the runner-up. Favourite of the Audience was Monekid. Award for the Most Fun Demo went to 3D-Lab and for the Boldest Idea to Bit-hedge.com. Monekid got the Microsoft Special Prize and Help4Free Skype Special Prize.

We are really delighted with what Garage48 achieved in 2012. Like every startup we had our ups and downs, but overall year has been successful. 2012 brought us 6 events in 4 countries, we reached to new destinations in Valmiera, Kiev and St. Petersburg and for the first time we learned from an experience and had to cancel one event. 2013 is going to be even more focused on Eastern European countries starting off with Minsk in Belarus and new destinations are waiting to be announced! Garage48 Tallinn Music was a 48 hour hackathon, where 100 people turned ideas into working mobile and web applications within 48 hours. This time most of the ideas were about music and entertainment. This is already second team from Garage48 hacking weekend, which becomes a part of the selected ones by most prestigious startup acceleration program in Europe. One big question after each Garage48 startup bootcamp event is what will happen to the teams after the event. To break out from their own country to Europe and across the world, joining an international incubator program is a good way for any team to rock the world. We launched in Estonia during Garage48 for Public Services in February and now looking to expand to other countries.We launched the site on noon of 27th of February and started to post links and content to different family oriented portals in Estonia. We invited babysitters to join our database and mothers to visit our website. First 24h brought us 1000 visitors and 70 nannies signed up in our database. First ever Estonian 48hour startup boot-camp event is finished by now. 40 ideas were pitched, out of which people formed 16 teams and started to build the services late Friday evening.
